“Thatchers,” Richard Flavin, 1987

In January of 2020 Richard gave me a copy of this print he made in 1987. It is a handsome large woodcut, 40 by 56 cm, number 8 of 100 prints made. Richard never told me about where he saw this scene, but I am sure he was struck by the the skills of the craftsmen doing the thatching work up on top of the unusually large traditional structure. I can imagine he felt compelled to capture the scene with his own artistry.
